Once again, in Lisbon, between the Roma-Areeiro train station and Lisbon Forum (and inside), the demand for Peace was reaffirmed and solidarity with Palestine was expressed.
Many joined, at 3pm a human cordon, holding hands in the traditional Palestinian way, symbolizing unity. The chants which echoed demanded once again the end of genocide and the end of Israel’s crimes, reaching the Forum, where at 4pm, the Concert began.
The Lopes Graça Choir from the Academia de Amadores de Música started the show, followed by interventions representing the promoting organizations made by Ilda Figueiredo and Carlos Almeida, from Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) Movement for the Rights of the Palestinian People and for Peace in the Middle East (MPPM) respectively.
This was followed by performances by Udi Fangudes, a Brazilian musician, musicians Zé Pinho, Alexandre Monteiro and José Baião and the amateur dance academy Handala Dabke Portugal, a traditional Palestinian dance.
The show continued with a poetry reading by actor André Gago, with a performance by Sahida Apsara, Dub FX and G Ras.
The closing of the Concert, presented by actress Maria João Luís, was the responsibility of the “Coro dos Anjos”.
The CPPC thanks everyone who made this beautiful Concert for Peace and solidarity with Palestine possible, including the generosity of the artists and organizations involved, the solidarity of the participants and workers and technicians and the support of the Lisbon Municipality and the Lisbon Forum.
For peace, we are all not too many!
