Early this morning, President Trump and his “Department of War” initiated a war against Iran without securing approval from Congress. Since the administration coordinated the attack with Israel, there is no excuse for failing to coordinate Constitutional authority with Congress.
In his speech justifying military action, the President cited long-standing dangers and historic tensions between Iran and the United States, but did not present an immediate threat to the United States that excuses the bypassing Congress’ constitutional authorization of war.
The American people’s threats are medical bills, a rising cost of living, and inflation. Americans have been gunned down and wrongly arrested by border patrol. Iran is not a concern for American workers. Trump is involving the United States in wars abroad in Latin America, Iran, Ukraine and also giving money to foreign governments like Argentina and Israel while workers are suffering. Trump ran his campaign on no foreign wars.
War with Iran is not good for America. We learned from Iraq & Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Korea. The only generation that has not experienced these disasters is the one expected to provide the muscle, and blood, for this coup d’etat that seeks to return Iranian industry to the hands of monopoly capital.
